NAPSA QUEENS COMMENCES THE DE-REGISTRATION PROCESS
Following a request from the Napsa Stars Women Football Club to have their membership withdrawn from the Lusaka Province League, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has invoked the process of de-registration of the club.
According to a letter from the FAZ General Secretary to Napsa Stars dated June 18, 2021, the club has been directed to meet all its obligations to its players and technical bench before dissolution.
“We regret that this has happened at the time CAF is deliberating on compulsory women teams for all teams participating in the CAF Inter-Club competition,” Kashala said.
“However, we will go ahead and follow the constitutional procedure of de-registration as the club was recently admitted as a member of FAZ at the last Annual General Meeting held in Kabwe.”
He adds: “Furthermore, this means that all your players are free to join any club of their choice without any payment of transfer fees and any other transfer-related charges. We advise that all the players be paid in full whatever is owed to them.”
Napsa Stars requested that their club be withdrawn from the FAZ league citing internal challenges.
FAZ has a fully-fledged 14-team women’s national league with Napsa Stars competing in the provincial brackets.
Napsa Stars Women’s Football Club was formed on launched on March 30, 2021, with the target of earning promotion to the FAZ Women’s National League within two years.
