The Lusaka FAZ Provincial Division One enters week 32 with four games taking place today Saturday and Sunday will host 5 matches and wrap up the 9 scheduled games for this weekend.
On Saturday, the attention will be on what is happening at Napsa Sports Complex when promotion chasers Young Napsa host Happy Hearts who are in danger of finding themselves in the relegation zone. The clash will be a matter of a desire to go on top and a desire to avoid relegation.
Chongwe United who are currently sitting on 4 defeats in a row and last won a league match on April 14, 2021, has a big test to redeem themselves and bring back the hopes of playing Division 1 next season as they host Riflemen at Chongwe Secondary School Ground.
Riflemen are playing in formality matches because even if they win all their remaining matches can’t push them to the top of the table to play in the National Division One playoffs hence it’s only looking at finishing in a respectable position.
On Sunday, league leaders Young Green Buffaloes will host Chainda Bombers as they look to maintain the top position on the table. Young Green Buffaloes only need 6 points to confirm their qualification to the National League playoffs before the season comes to an end. The teams will rely on Michael Musonda and Potipher Soko respectively to deliver for either side.
In another match, promotion contenders Lusaka City Council will be in a big test as they host relegation fighters Kabwata Dynamos. The Council-sponsored side will be in a quest of maintaining or reducing a four-point deficit to log leaders Young Green Buffaloes. On the other hand, Kabwata needs to win all their remaining matches to survive relegation and the work starts now.
