Nkana Football Club has acknowledged contributions from its supporters while confirming plans to take full control of its membership and season ticket programmes ahead of the 2026/27 season.
In a statement issued by Media and Communications Manager Mike Mubanga, the club said it had received a combined total of K42,137.06 through a supporter-led membership initiative during the current campaign.
An initial K29,076.60 was raised in November 2025, followed by a further K13,060.46 in February 2026.
The initiative had been part of a wider mobilisation effort targeting 300,000 supporters contributing K100 each, with the aim of generating K30 million. However, the club confirmed that, as of 4 May 2026, collections remain significantly below that target.
“Nkana Football Club wishes to acknowledge and appreciate the continued support from its supporters,” the statement read.
Despite welcoming the effort, Nkana said all future membership structures would now be formally administered by the club secretariat to improve organisation, accountability and long-term sustainability.
“The club shall maintain an official supporters register to ensure proper organisation, coordination and engagement of supporters as part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the club’s financial base, governance and sustainability,” the statement added.
The club also referenced supporter contributions made following crowd trouble at the April 2025 fixture against Power Dynamos at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, which led to vandalism and the destruction of more than 2,000 seats.
Supporters contributed K24,397 on 17 July 2025 towards repair works, though Nkana said the total cost of restoring the damaged infrastructure amounted to K914,583.
“While these contributions are appreciated, Nkana FC continues to meet considerably broader operational and financial obligations in ensuring the running and competitiveness of the club,” the statement said.
Further details on the club’s official membership and season ticket framework are expected to be announced before the start of the 2026/27 season.
Nkana reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability and building what it described as “a sustainable future for Kalampa.”
