The season opening Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final between Power Dynamos and Green Buffaloes will be played on Wednesday 9th March in Lusaka and wont be moved to Tuesday.
The ZamFoot Crew understands that despite calls by soccer fans to have the final played on Tuesday, which is a public holiday as opposed to Wednesday, the Football Association of Zambia will not move the match due to TV scheduling commitments.
Power Dynamos beat Champions Zesco United on penalties to qualify to the finals while Green Buffaloes edged last season’s league runners up Zanaco 1 – 0 to set-up the Lusaka versus Kitwe final.
The game will kick off at 15:00hrs and will be played at Nkoloma stadium.

Off topiFAZ aspiring vice-president Mofya Chisala says releasing high level financial statements every three months will be top on his agenda once voted into office.
Chisala, who is on his campaign tour of Northern, Muchinga and Luapula provinces, said the “Making A Difference” (MAD) campaign message was enough for all soccer lovers to give him a chance.
“FAZ is a public institution and Zambians have a right to know what is happening. Every three months we shall be releasing financial statements so that Zambian people could be fully aware of how funds will be spent. We shall make the issue of contracts open for people to understand,” Chisala said.
“I’m the only one who is ready to work with whoever comes into office. All my colleagues are clinging by the presidential candidates and for me I don’t believe in that. It’s all about what you are ready to offer regardless of who you are working with.”
Chisala said councillors were fully aware of what they needed to develop football and his MAD theory was providing the solution.
He said he would ensure that FAZ would be run based on policies and procedures as laid down by the association’s constitution.
Chisala said he would ensure that a productive strategic plan for the next four years would be in place to ensure that clubs among other partners duly benefit from the programme.
And Loyal Tigers of Mpika vice-chairman Fredrick Mwamba said it was high time that clubs started benefitting from the association.
“Our concern has always been, when are we going to start benefitting from the main investment that has been put in football? Chisala’s manifesto seems to provide for that, so we just have to give him chance to implement his manifesto,” said Mwamba.
