LUSAKA, Zambia – Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA) Queens have set their sights on conquering the world’s largest youth football tournament as they depart for the Gothia Cup in Sweden with a strong and balanced squad capable of challenging for the Gold Trophy.
The Queens head into the tournament full of confidence after reinforcing their squad with Zambia international goalkeeper Winfridah Mutale and versatile Jane Roshety Chirwa from our sister club The Elite Ladies FC, whose experience is expected to strengthen the team’s ambitions on the international stage.
Leading the side is super star Hildah Kangwa, who will be tasked with inspiring the team as they compete against some of the best youth clubs from around the world.
One of the tournament’s most inspiring stories comes from within the BUSA family, as 12-year-old Sylvia Lukonde earns her first senior team call-up following her promotion from the Young BUSA Queens. Her selection highlights the academy’s commitment to developing home-grown talent and providing young players with opportunities to excel at the highest level.
For Bauleni United Sports Academy, participation at the Gothia Cup represents more than football. It reflects years of investment in youth development, girls’ football, and creating international pathways for talented young Zambian players.
The club believes the squad has the quality, determination, and unity to compete with distinction and proudly fly the Zambian flag in Sweden.
As the Queens begin their Gothia Cup journey, the entire BUSA family, supporters, partners, and the football community stand behind them with one message:
Go and make history. Go and make Zambia proud.
