Dominic Kanda Jr and Constance Kamusu were the biggest winners as ZANACO Football Club celebrated its standout performers during the club’s annual Awards Gala held on Friday night.
The ceremony, attended by ZANACO Bank Board Chairman Professor Oliver Saasa, recognised excellence across the club’s men’s, women’s and youth teams following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
Kanda capped off an impressive campaign by claiming the Men’s Player of the Season award, while Kamusu was named Player of the Season for ZANACO Ladies after playing a key role throughout the season.
In the men’s team, striker Eliya Mandaji walked away with the Golden Boot award after finishing as the club’s leading scorer with 19 goals.
Tinklar Sinkala was recognised as the Most Consistent Player, Mwenya Mwape collected the Most Improved Player accolade, while Thomas Banda received the Most Disciplined Player award. Araina Lambert was voted the Fans’ Player of the Season, highlighting the forwards’ popularity with the ZANACO faithful.
For ZANACO Ladies, Regina Chanda was honoured with the Golden Boot award after leading the team’s scoring charts. Ruth Ngoma claimed the Most Consistent Player award, Esther Musialela was recognised as the Most Improved Player, and Ruth Mukisi earned the Most Disciplined Player accolade.
The club also celebrated the achievements of its development sides, underlining its commitment to nurturing future talent.
Young ZANACO Under-21 captain Vincent Kwenda was named Player of the Season, while Gift Kapambwe collected the Golden Boot award. Saviour Zakeyo completed the honours by being named the team’s Most Consistent Player.
At Under-19 level, Gabriel Mutale was voted Player of the Season after an outstanding campaign. Henry Banda finished as the side’s top scorer to claim the Golden Boot, while James Kasanjula received the Most Consistent Player award.
Special recognition awards were also presented during the evening. Sarah Chungu received the prestigious Chairman’s Award in recognition of her contribution to the club, while Ziyo Tembo was named Coach of the Season after overseeing an impressive campaign.
The annual Awards Gala brought together players, coaches, club officials and invited guests to celebrate individual excellence and collective achievement, bringing the curtain down on another memorable season for the Bankers.
