Austrian based Zambia national team duo of striker Patson Daka and midfield ace Enock Mwepu have been dropped from the CAF young player of the year accolade.
This follows the announcement of the top five shortlists made by the Continent’s football governing body, CAF and shared on their social media pages as monitored by the ZamFoot Crew.
The list for the top five youngsters on the continent is led by Moroccan player Acraf Hakimi who has been fantastic for Borussia Dortmund. Others are Malian forward Moussa Djenepo, Senegalese Krepin Diatta and Nigerian duo of Samu Chukwueze and Victor Ohsimen.

The Zambia Women’s national team and their head coach Bruce Mwape, on the other hand, have made the top five shortlists in their respective categories for the 2019 CAF Awards.
The Copper Queens, however, have to overcome stiff competition from fellow 2020 Olympic qualifiers finalists Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and South Africa after the Harambee Starlets of Kenya were dropped from the race.

The Zambia Women’s national team has been fantastic in 2019 winning Silver at the 2019 COSAFA Women’s Cup and reaching the final stage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers.
The Copper Queens head coach, Bruce Mwape has also made the top five shortlist for the Women’s coach of the year accolade. Mwape guided the Copper Queens to COSAFA Women’s Cup final and the final round of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualifiers.
The Nchanga Rangers boss will battle Nigeria’s Thomas Dennerby, South Africa’s Desiree Ellis, Ivory Coast’s Clementine Toure, and Cameroon’s Alan Djeumfa after Kenya’s David Ouma was dropped.
