Eagles close in on top four after win over Buffaloes

Striker Shadreck Mulungwe scored the only goal of the game as Green Eagles beat Green Buffaloes 1-0 in a rescheduled MTN/FAZ Super League week 7 encounter at Choma’s Independence Stadium.

Buffaloes were determined to make it seven games without defeat as they kept the hosts at bay until the dying minutes of the match with Mulungwe grabbing the winner to hand Aggrey Chiyangi’s side maximum points.

The win takes Eagles to fifth place with 19 points and just two points adrift of twelve-time Super League Champions, Nkana who are on fourth.

Eagles, however, have a game in hand which they will play this weekend when they welcome Red Arrows at the Independence Stadium on Saturday.
