Nkana confirm Elijah Tana as head coach 

MTN Super League side Nkana Football Club has confirmed the appointment of former Chipolopolo defender Elijah Tana as head coach. 

Nkana took to social media to confirm the development in a statement by Media and Communications Manager, Mike Mubanga which was monitored by the ZamFoot Crew. 

Tana has been Interim head coach for the record 13 time Super League Champions since March 2nd when Mwenya Chipepo was sent on Administrative leave and eventually parted ways with the club in May. 

Tana will be assisted by Josphat Nkhoma as First Assistant Coach and Donashano Malama as Second Assistant Coach. Michael Poto will continue in his role as Goalkeeper Coach, while Simon Bwalya will remain Senior Team Physical Trainer.

“Nkana Football Club confirms the appointment of Elijah Tana as Head Coach. 

Tana will be assisted by Josphat Nkhoma as First Assistant Coach and Donashano Malama as Second Assistant Coach. 

Michael Poto will continue in his role as Goalkeeper Coach, while Simon Bwalya will remain Senior Team Physical Trainer. 

The appointments were approved by the Executive Committee at its meeting held on Friday.”

Nkana FC Chief Executive Officer Mwansa Kapyanga says the appointments follow the club’s assessment of its technical and performance requirements. 

“We are confident in the technical team we have assembled and believe they possess the qualities required to drive the club forward and satisfy the club’s sporting and strategic parameters,”  Kapyanga said. 

“Nkana Football Club wishes the technical bench success as preparations for the forthcoming season continue. They have our full support as they work towards achieving the club’s objectives.” 

Tana initially joined Nkana as Chipepo’s second assistant coach back in November 2024.
