Former Chipolopolo Boys Coach Hervé Renard has been appointed Tunisia 🇹🇳 National Team Head Coach until the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This comes barely 24 hours after the dismissal of Sabri Lamouchi after the Carthage Eagles’ disappointing 5-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The agreement also says the two parties will open negotiations for a long term co-operation based on specific sporting goals.
“The Tunisian Football Association announces the appointment of Hervé Renard as the coach of the national team until the end of the 2026 World Cup, to continue his duties starting this evening, with the same financial privileges.
The agreement also states to open negotiations after the end of participation in the World Cup, for long-term cooperation based on specific sporting goals.”
Renard led Zambia and Ivory Coast to the 2012 and 2015 AFCON triumphs respectively.
He also had spells as Morocco and Angola coach.The Frenchman also coached USM Algiers in Algeria and Saudi Arabia.
Renard also coached Sochaux and Metz in his native France as well as the French Women’s National team.
