Zanaco take on Warrios as super league action returns

The MTN FAZ super league returns to action this weekend after a two week mid-season recess.

League leaders Zanaco who ended the first half with the best form with five wins in a roll and are seven points clear at the top have a home game against sixth place Kabwe Warriors who were the second best in terms of form at the end of the first half.

Warriors won 4 out of their last 5 games with their only loss being the 2 – 1 beating at the hands of Power Dynamos.

The Mohamad Fathy coached side has performed above expectation after only earning promotion this season to finish the first half in the top half of the table.

The other promotion sides are struggling in the bottom half with Mufulira Blackpool looking certain for relegation while Lumwana Radiants and Lusaka Tigers are just outside the relegation zone.

After a poor start to the season which saw them look like relegation contenders, Forest Rangers have looked like a top four team since Patrick Phiri took over losing only twice in 8 games.

Their performance on Friday against Mufulira Wanderers will be key in setting their pace for the final lap.

In a battle of the two bottom teams, winless Mufulira Blackpool will be away against second from bottom Lusaka Dynamos.

With Zescon United not in action due to CAF champions league commitment, Nkana have a chance to go second if they win at home against Nkwazi.

A loss for Nkana could potentially see them drop into 5th position if both Power Dynamos and Green Buffaloes win there games against Napsa Stars and Green Eagles respectively.
