Luyando Foundation Girls secured their place in next season’s ZPL Women’s Super League after a crucial 2-0 victory over ZISD Women on Sunday, while ZESCO Ndola Girls moved to within a point of retaining the league title.
Elsewhere, Amazing Grace FC held Nchanga Rangers Queens to a draw and Red Arrows Women shared the spoils with Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles Queens in Week 33 action.
At Independence Stadium, Luyando Foundation Girls produced a composed display to defeat ZISD Women courtesy of goals from Catherine Mulenga and Tamika Simpamba.
Mulenga opened the scoring in the 30th minute before Simpamba sealed the result with a second goal 15 minutes from time.
The victory lifts Luyando Foundation Girls to 31 points, a tally that confirms their survival as relegation rivals Amazing Grace, ZISD Women and YASA Queens can no longer catch or surpass them.
At NASDEC Stadium, ZESCO Ndola Girls edged Green Eagles Women 1-0 thanks to an 82nd-minute winner from Fridah Kabwe.
The result takes the defending champions to 82 points, leaving them needing just one point from their final two matches to successfully retain the Women’s Super League crown.
Amazing Grace FC and Nchanga Rangers Queens battled to a 1-1 draw in another closely contested encounter.
Blessings Maluba Mapalo handed Nchanga Rangers Queens the lead in the 20th minute before Ruth Muwowo equalised nine minutes later for Amazing Grace. The strike was Muwowo’s 16th league goal of the season.
Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles Queens also shared the points with Red Arrows Women following a 1-1 draw.
Astrida Sikaala gave Red Arrows the advantage in the 28th minute, but Happy Machayi converted a late penalty in the 85th minute to rescue a point for Kamfinsa.
