Bulaya Strike Sends Green Eagles into Top Three After ZESCO United Win

Green Eagles FC climbed into the MTN Super League top three after a narrow 1-0 victory over ZESCO United FC in a rescheduled Week 20 fixture.

The decisive moment came just before half-time when Derrick Bulaya found the back of the net to secure all three points for the Kawale Boys.

The striker continues his fine form, taking his tally to eight goals since rejoining Eagles in February following a six-month loan spell at Mozambican side CD Costa do Sol.

Earlier in the match, Eagles threatened through a well-struck set piece from Yande, but ZESCO United’s goalkeeper produced a sharp save to keep the scores level at 0-0.

Bulaya eventually broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute, giving Eagles a crucial lead heading into the break.

The win lifts Green Eagles to 50 points and into third place, just six points behind second-placed Red Arrows FC as the race for the upper positions tightens.

For ZESCO United, it is another setback in a difficult run of form, with just one win in their last six matches. The Ndola side remains 11th on 38 points.
