The Zambia U15 Boys National Team will at midnight play the first of the two games against Morocco at the 2024 Double Confrontation Tournament.
Head coach Aaron Kawangu is full of praise for Morocco’s investment in Youth Development and infrastructure.
He is expecting an exciting game between the two teams. He says the players have a chance to use their potential to further their National team careers.
“It will be an exciting game. We have seen how much they have invested, how good their infrastructure is. It’s good for us to be able to measure where we are interns of Youth Development,” he said.
“We have been psyching the players not to be under pressure and just play the game that they do back home. I think they are ready, we just have to wait and see what they will put up.”
“It’s a good challenge for us as technical bench and also for the boys it’s a good stepping stone, if they use it correctly. They have the potential to make it to the other National Teams (U17, U-20, U23 and Senior Team), we believe they have understood and are taking it seriously,” he added.
Morocco has more than 10 players based at top European clubs. Two players are at Belgium’s Anderlecht with the other two at Gent and Genk.
There’s another player at SC Braga in Portugal. One player is at Frankfurt in Germany while two players are in Italy at Bologna and Espanyol.
Kawangu is however not moved as he believes football is the same everywhere and he is expecting a good fight from his side.
“Football is the same everywhere, with proper preparation we don’t see that as a huge threat. We believe in what local academies are doing. There is so much hope and trust that they will put up a fight that will show that we are moving with the latest trends in football,” he said.
The team plays Morocco in the first match at midnight at the Mohammed VI Complex before facing the North Africans in the second match three days later.
