Lameck Banda’s situation at Lecce is becoming more complicated. The Zambian winger has reportedly not attended training for several weeks and is no longer responding to calls from the Italian club.
Libyan journalist Muha El Gadamsi reports that Banda has been seen with a delegation from Al Swehli SC and is reportedly close to signing a two-year contract worth around 12 million Libyan dinars (€1.63 million).
A month ago, Lecce reportedly rejected an offer from Al Swehli for Banda because the bid was below €1 million.
Now, there are concerns that Al Swehli could still attempt to register the player, potentially by seeking provisional authorisation from FIFA.
Lecce has already taken the matter further, sending official communications to FIFA, CAF, FIGC, and the football federations of Zambia and Libya.
