The 2012 African Champions Zambia have finally left for Equatorial Guinea from their base in South Africa.
The Chipolopolo Boys arrived at Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International Airport immediately after 12:00 hours.
The team will spend a night in Addis Ababa before connecting to Equatorial Guinea tomorrow.
Zambia was initially scheduled to arrive in Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday but poor travel arrangements has seen the delayed and will only arrive 48 hours before the first match against neighbours DR Congo.
Coach Honour Janza has also come out highlighting how the Football Association of Zambia, FAZ hasn’t given him a contract and there’s also an issue of the jersey.

Zamfoot, as a journalist, I want to advice you the difference between news stories and opinions. In news stories you talk to people, who either deny or confirm. Who said what is written in this caption?
Zamfoot has become more of a politically
inclined site than that for soccer fans! Shame!
Poiint!
ba Chamz, being a journalist, you are also expected be a good communicator, learn to distinguish between ‘advise’ and ‘advice’!!!!!!Wouldnt have taken issue if you had not exposed your profession
u r so intelligent zagwa.
CHAOTIC and SHAMBOLIC travel arrangements. This is the beginning of our downfall. The team should have been in Equatorial Guinea by now. We need new minds at FAZ now. We are sick and tired of the CRIMINALS that are there. Corrupt and disgraced Kalusha Bwalya should gracefully resign after the AFCON to save his face from embarrassment.
Can’t you really be positive for once sure dude? Ukuilishanya fye every time sure?
Lets put the wrong aside Kalusha and co are doing. Its time to support our Chipolopolo Boys. At least they bring a smile on our faces even when things are no right in our country. We will sort Kalusha after AFCON.
All the best Chipolopolo.Lesa fye umwine.
It will be a miracle if we can even beat Congo DR with so many things wrong with our football. The small boys will be CONFUSED and jet lagged. We are going there to fulfill the fixture. This is such a SHAME to say the least.PATHETIC!!!!
you negative Tweet! watch this space! Go Zambia Go. the small boys are better than your Old Legs who failed us in 2013.
We know Kalusha and co. are messed up but at least be positive about our Chipolopolo. Zambia will shock some of the teams at AFCON. Just watch this space. The core of the 2012 winning team is still intact. Lets move on and be positive.
thanks Billy. Hammer be Objective!Your Spade is a big Spoon!
You should be out of your mind if you think a team of small boys will do anything meaningful. The Chaotic and Shambolic travel arrangements are only a recepy for disaster. You can’t win an AFCON tournament let alone win a match with shame a mess!
No way Mazambiens will do miracle in AFCON 2015 they will come back the earliest, Go Bafana Go
efyo iya twalibelela anyway wishing you the best copper bullets, let them shine on the paper en u can show them u re the great in da pitch
uko muleya mwebana bandi, mukalete ichikombe,,,, glory Be To God .,
viva zambia do us proud
I’m guessing they will spend the night sitting on chairs in the transit lounge in Addis…..but anyways all the best guys. You shocked the world when you played a solid game against Cape Verde even if you were jet lagged. Yes you lost the game but truth be told the expectation was that you would be beaten soundly but you stood your ground. Shock us again lads and go on to win this AFCON.
Boys just go and do a good job put the perpetual travelling arragements woes behind, we will sort of uyu Kalusha Bwalya and FAZ seriously. Its high time he left that seat let others lead the association, even PONGA LIWEWE wouldnt be a bad choice. We cant have these chronic travelling problems all the time, Bafana Bafana our neighbours just here even had enough time to have a leisure game with Mali whom they walloped 3 – 0. We are tired of this nonsense at FAZ.
We should have asked Bafana for a ride…..seeing half of SAFA are Kalu’s friends anyway.
Big Steve 4rm SA I hope the players will not have to spend the night on chairs/benches. There are actually a number of transit hotels in Ethiopia, almost equivalent to our Pamodzi Hotel going at US$50/person. To cut down the costs, the players can share a room each as the stay is just for some hours but knowing our never-learn colleagues in FAZ, I will not be surprised to learn that the players spent the night at the airport so that someone can making a saving to be credited to his account. The travel arrangements have already gone wrong and all we have to do now is to put mitigants into place and do some damage control.
Is to leave us we are used ala.
FAZ is very big disappointment, I wounder what these people are payed for…Any Go Chipolopolo…
The usual…..
Welcome back bro. You’ve been missing on Zamfoot for a while.
Janza is upset but its time for him to rewrite his CV. Its hard for the coach to go months without a salary and no contract. Our Zambian Govt should entirely take the blame. Let’s not point fingers at FAZ please. I don’t think Kalusha would book a commercial plan to ferry our players if our Govt released enough money. Its like we can’t learn a lesson for the Garbon Air crush. Why should our brothers suffer for representing our nation? Even DRC has afforded to ferry their players on a private jet.
janza come out what about the jersey? Am sure its ZAWA again. Imwe mwebantu why cant you organise a new jersey. Me am tired of ZAWA jersey.
BA FAZ YOU ARE DOGS .EVEN JANZA HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THE JERSEY BUT SOME BLOGGERS HERE WHERE INSULTIN US ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE.
WERE
Sorry, but something needs to change. Just because the team is finally on the plane and on the way does not mean that something is fundamentally wrong between FAZ and government in how this has been handled…again.
Instead YOU the fans will sit and wait to watch the game before you react. If Zambia wins, then you will even forget the amateurish planning, but if we lose you will ask for Janza’s head on a platter. In the meantime the true culprits in Government and FAZ will be sitting fat and happy. Wake up!!!! Ask questions of the people that lead, ask the ministry of sport for an explanation, ask FAZ for an explanation. How you can mess up travel arrangements for a tournament that has been scheduled for 2 years. How you can mess up travel arrangements for a tournament we qualified to more than 6 weeks ago. This is what is wrong with Zambia, blind followership without an ounce of critical thinking. You will dance in victory and simply forget the underlying issues. Then in defeat our anger will be misplaced. You do not have to be angry, but at least ask the questions to those people.
can some 1 tell me kalus job he cant even get a jersey for the team
kulu is buzy with caf & fifa then kabwili is capgning 4 is job selfish leaders we have in my mother land God help us
siiiiiiibs!!!!!!!!!’. welcome bak.
News coming out of the Congo camp, is that there are no enough hotels left for teams to accommodate, the available hotels if any which are substandard have no running water and have naked electric wires and are located in shanty compounds with poor sanitation. I am scared for our players. Useless Caf.
I have surveyed quite a number of football websites to see how the outside world views Zambia’s chances at this Afcon tournament. It is evident that most soccer analysts do not foresee Zambia qualifying to the knock-out stages. In our group, Tunisia have been placed as the clear favourites followed by Cape Verde. Whereas most Zambians are concerned about the porous defence, most international analysts are pointing to Zambia’s problems in front of goal. We have not scored too many goals since lifting the trophy in 2012.
That’s an interesting observation. I think if we go by whats on paper one would definitely agree with the analysis. Though I question Tunisia’s pedigree, because they are not a team that has been feared recently. Though I don’t know their qualifying record.
FAZ must move in and clear all the bottle-necks and the rest of us must support the team regardless of the observed or perceived short comings …. GOD bless our Chioploplo Boys … win or lose let Zambia Celebrate her Jubilee with greater joy … Shalom … we shall have new things this year … among them a new Republican President … whoever it shall be GOD bless the Zambia … happy are we who belong to PF, UPND and all other well meaning parties (non-attached) …. whoever wins shall be our man/woman … Thanku
Our CHIPOLOPOLO BOYS … apologies for the wrong spelling
again not the Zambia but our great Nation Zambia .. blesse and fashioned by the Good LORD …
I bear with the Coach but I also do not agree with him speaking to the press coz his statement can discourage the whole team … advice to our dearest Coach … keep up the good works and rewards will never be with held from you any longer … imagine Sir Janza you winning the AFCON …. keep your heart on the ball the Contract will surely come … say you were relieved of the job … you have nothing to lose already you are among the gallant Zambian coaches who have taken the Chipolopolo to the Africa Cup … dear Sir your rewards are coming … just avoid the Press … some things get twisted …. Shalom … as for FAZ, do the best you can to be Sir HJ and the whole team Happier … the rest of us shall support anything Zambian …
hehehhehehe
wat r u laughing for?, have u bin smoking paw paw leaves?
Zambia will win the cup. Done deal, I saw it and it will come to pass.
semi final yes but not wining.
Zambians will occupy last position in group with No goals scored.
—————————AFCON FRIENDLIES—————————
RAYNARDS (ELEPHANTS)- IVORY COAST – LOST 2 NIHIL TO SWEDEN NATIONAL TEAM
IN DUBAI (EMERATES).
We should rely on the individual performance of our players not in the entire team as everything has gone horribly wrong, staring from the team selection, preparations, contract issues, to the traveling arrangements.
This dude called kay hammer…grrrrrhh…even when u have a valid point, which you rarely do,the way you come is mostly not pleasing…Try being a bit etiquette……And please you are so monotous, I can always predict your view and your grammar too..its irritating…people who are objective don’t go around telling everyone they are objective. Each time there’s a bad occurance you come out here saying you have been vindicated, dude who needs a prophet on zamfoot???? We have objective people here and every1 can affirm 2 that fact..uncle bobs,Justice kafusha,sibs,ROK,paradox..even Kwame tho being a ghanain adds more value to this blog..This is 2015,you need 2b dynamic…small boys kwisa…Yo preferred old players have had their time, they didn’t show much ambition in their last games for the nation.Even though what Janza has done is a gamble it will pay dividends in the future..Everyone complains when there’s something wrong but the manner we do it tells a lot about who we are….all the best to chipolopolo.
Wamweba! True! His so childish ! Though Justice also has lost track!
Yes how can CAF allow a countrt with sub standard hotel host the afcon? Accomodation will be a challenge for Zambia, unless the advance party had done its dirty work, of which I doubt.
IYEEE CHIPOLOPOLO IYEEE CHIPOLOPOLO IYEEE CHIPOLOPOLO
Yes we hav had Absolutely poor travel arrangements thanx to the Ministry of Sports. We hav the shocking contract saga. Kanbwilis bad mouth, doubts on the capabilities of coach Honour Janza to lead us to victory. To add salt to injury, our jersey is pathetic. but its time to put ALL that aside and focus all our attention on the performance of our Mighty Chipolopolo. The Afcon is here, Its time to fully support our team as we always do. And as ‘the Kings of Southern African football’ the entire Southern Africa will b looking up to us and SA to make them Proud…Remember, we did it before!
To be honest and forward thinking despite all the things that have gone wrong am sure the Chipolopolo country boys or men depending on preference will put in their best do Mother Zed proud because they know fully well that pa Zed when it comes to football ni do or die.
ALL THE BEST TO OUR NATIONAL TEAM and may someone always be there to take my hand through these heart stopping gameS. CHAPWAAAA.
