Power Dynamos moved to the brink of the MTN Super League title after a commanding 2-0 victory over ZANACO, opening up a commanding 12-point lead at the summit with just five matches remaining.
At Arthur Davies Stadium, the league leaders extended their unbeaten run to 16 matches with a composed display. Frederick Mulambia broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box to fire past goalkeeper Lameck Siame. Defender Dominic Chanda sealed the result in the 63rd minute, tapping in from close range after a parried effort from a corner.
The result takes Power to 67 points, leaving them needing just four more to mathematically secure the title, while second-placed Red Arrows were held to a 1-1 draw by Konkola Blades. Clive Biyeta had given Blades an early lead in the 10th minute before Albert Kangwanda equalised in the 75th minute.
Elsewhere, Mines United’s survival hopes faded further following a 1-0 defeat to Kabwe Warriors at Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium. Saith Sakala struck the decisive goal in the 40th minute, lifting Warriors into fifth place while leaving Mines United on the brink of relegation.
Kansanshi Dynamos produced one of the standout performances of the round with a dominant 3-0 away win over FC MUZA in Mazabuka. Kalonji Mwepu opened the scoring in the 19th minute before Dalitso Lungu doubled the advantage in the 38th minute on his return from injury. Garry Mwelwa wrapped up the victory deep into stoppage time (90+3), as Kansanshi climbed to 12th place with 35 points.
Mufulira Wanderers kept their push for a top-two finish alive with a dramatic late victory, edging Mutondo Stars 1-0 thanks to William Kamwanga’s 89th-minute winner. They now sit on 48 points, seven behind Red Arrows.
Nchanga Rangers ended a four-match losing run with a narrow 1-0 win over Nkwazi, Andrew Mupande scoring the only goal in the 51st minute to lift Rangers into fourth place on 46 points.
Green Buffaloes also secured a slender 1-0 victory in the Military Derby against Green Eagles, with Stephan Aniekan Ikpeme netting as early as the 13th minute. The result continues Buffaloes’ dominance in the fixture, with Eagles still searching for a first win in the matchup since 2022.
In Ndola, ZESCO United and FC Leopards shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Muya Kamemwe gave Leopards the lead in the 53rd minute before Thandi Mwape converted a 75th-minute penalty to earn ZESCO a point.
