They are good but my team is better – Asanovic

Chipolopolo Boys head coach Aljosa Asanovic says the Comoros have a good but he believes his side is better.

Asanovic who was speaking during the pre-match press conference is expecting a tough match but he is confident his team will carry the day tomorrow.

The Crot says he watched the Coelacanths at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

“I told my players its going to be a tricky game, The Comoros is a good team, they played well at the last AFCON. I watched a few games of their AFCON debut, even their captain is a good player but my team is better and we going to win tomorrow that’s the only way,” he said.

“I have good players and I know what we are doing but sometimes when playing against another good team we have to change the system. On Tuesday will also change the system and put in some new vision.”

Asanovic has asked the fans to rally behind the team because they need them tomorrow.

“It will be a difficult game but we will be playing home. My word to the people coming to the Stadium please be one with the players because we need the supporters to be behind us,” he said.

“It’s my decision because am the guy incharge so we will see Tomorrow,” He said when asked about whether he will make changes in the team tomorrow.

“Everyday in football it’s pressure, This is my job that’s why am here . I have already spoken with all my players. Pressure exists everywhere,” he added.

The Copper Bullets suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Elephants on Match Day One of the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers while Comoros beat Lesotho 2-0.

The Chipolopolo Boys will host Comoros tomorrow at the National Heroes Stadium.

  1. Good we got the 3 points but that is not a team that can go anywhere. The defence is out of sync with the midfield. A slow build up is not designed for players of a low football IQ. The more time they have on the ball the more they are exposed. North Africans play running football hence their dominance!!!

  2. So what was all that fuss about?
