Zambian forward Kingston Mutandwa continued his prolific form in Austria, scoring his 14th goal of the season as SV Ried secured a 2-0 victory over BW Linz in the Austrian Bundesliga on Saturday.
Mutandwa was instrumental throughout, first providing the assist for Ante Bajic’s 29th-minute opener before seeing a goal ruled out for offside nine minutes later. He eventually got on the scoresheet in the 81st minute, calmly converting from the penalty spot to seal the win.
The Chipolopolo striker now boasts 17 goal contributions (14 goals, three assists) this season and sits joint top of the league’s scoring charts.
In England, Patson Daka featured for 63 minutes as Leicester City edged Blackburn Rovers 1-0, with Stephy Mavididi netting the decisive goal.
Over in Estonia, Benjamin Chisala delivered a standout impact off the bench, needing just eight minutes to score after coming on, and also providing an assist in Nõmme United’s 3-2 win against Pärnu JK Vaprus.
Fellow Zambian Ricky Chanda opened the scoring, marking his second goal of the season, while Chisala’s strike was his first of the campaign. The result lifts Nõmme United to sixth place in the Meistriliiga.
In Israel, Klings Kangwa played the full match as Hapoel Be’er Sheva defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-0, moving to within one point of league leaders Beitar Jerusalem.
Meanwhile in Scotland, Chanka Zimba made a late appearance off the bench as Inverness Caledonian Thistle recorded a 2-1 victory over Hamilton Academical.
Elsewhere, Joseph Sabobo Banda featured as Alashkert FC drew 2-2 with BKMA Yerevan, while Samson Ngulube came on as a second-half substitute in IFK Mariehamn’s 1-0 defeat to Vaasan Palloseura.
