Chipolopolo striker Francisco Mwepu has signed a contract extension with Spanish Liga Liga side, Cádiz Club de Fútbol.
The former Sturm Graz forward has extended his stay in Andalusia until 2026, the club has confirmed.
“Cádiz Club de Fútbol and Francisco Mwepu have reached an agreement for the contractual relationship to be extended until 2026.
The international player with Zambia, participated at the beginning of the month in the Africa Cup with his team, debuted with the first team on matchday 36 against Villarreal. This season he has played 28 games with Mirandilla and scored seven goals.”
Mwepu initially joined Cadiz CF from Kafue Celtic on a one year permanent deal in September last year.
The 23 year old spent two seasons at Austrian Bundesliga side, SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz.
The Kafue Celtic product joined Sturm Graz in 2020 but could not break into the first team and suffered a serious knee injury in October 2021.
Mwepu was an influential member of the Zambia Under-20 side between December 2017 and December 2019 helping the team to a COSAFA U-20 title in 2019 as the teams top goalscorer.
He is the younger brother to medically retired Chipolopolo former captain, Enock Mwepu.

Congratulations! He should be given more first team minutes, otherwise, what’s the point? He’s talented and needs more exposure to La liga.
