Nchanga slump continues as ZESCO edge win; MUZA, Buffaloes share spoils

Nchanga Rangers’ struggles deepened with a third straight defeat, while ZESCO United continued their steady rise with a narrow victory and FC MUZA were held to a goalless draw by Green Buffaloes in Thursday’s MTN Super League fixtures.

In Solwezi, ZESCO United claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over Kansanshi Dynamos courtesy of Emmanuel Manda’s 66th-minute strike. The Ndola-based side are now unbeaten in four matches, a run that lifts them to 10th place on 35 points.

Konkola Blades returned to winning ways in Chililabombwe, defeating Mufulira Wanderers 2-0. Boyd Musonda opened the scoring just after the hour mark before Rapheal Silwimba sealed the result late on. The victory, their first in six games, moves Blades onto 40 points.

In Kabwe, FC Leopards boosted their survival hopes with a narrow 1-0 win over Nchanga Rangers. Maximilian Elimbi converted from the penalty spot in the 30th minute to secure all three points.

The result compounds Nchanga’s poor run, with the visitors now having lost three consecutive matches.

Elsewhere, there was little to separate FC MUZA and Green Buffaloes, who played out a goalless draw.
