Copper Queens in serious Swiss test

The Copper Queens will square off with Switzerland in their second International friendly match in Europe this evening.

Bruce Mwape’s lasses held their final training on Thursday evening ahead of today’s international friendly with Switzerland in Biel/Bienne.

After a disappointing 3-2 loss in a game they dominated for the most part, the Copper Queens will be looking to get the better of the 20th highest ranked team in the World.

Mwape will again look to the fast paced duo of Liga F star Rachel Kundananji and Skipper Barbra Banda to lead the team.

With Irene Lungu now available Mwape has an even bigger headache on his combinations in the middle of the park.

Evarine Susan Katongo and Susan Banda look to be the preferred midfield duo supported by the amazing Grace Chanda.

Rhoda Chileshe, Comfort Selemani, Mary Wilombe, Avell Chitundu, Misozi Zulu and Prisca Chilufya are all available.

In defence, Judith Soko is likely to make way for Martha Tembo with Agness Musesa set to partner Lushomo Mweemba while Margaret Belemu will start at right back.

Esther Banda, Jackline Nkole, Vast Phiri, Esther Siamfuko and Pauline Zulu are also working hard for a slot in the team.

In between the sticks, Hazel Nali  faces stiff competition from Catherine Musonda, Eunice Sakala, Leticia Lungu and youngster  Esther Chitete Munsaka.

The Copper Queens and the Swiss will face off in a fierce encounter at the Tissot Arena with Kick-off set at 18h00.

Zambia will then face Germany on July 7 to conclude their preparations before heading to Australia and New Zealand.
