Power and Wanderers complete ABSA Cup final fourĀ

Power Dynamos and Mufulira Wanderers joined Chirundu United and Red Arrows as the last four standing in the 2026 ABSA Cup.

Abayellow defeated fellow Copperbelt side Nchanga Rangers 2-0 in the ABSA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday to book a place in the semi-finals.

In a match played at Nkoloma Stadium, in-form talisman Moses Shumah opened the scoring in the 14th minute, calmly finishing from a clever lofted assist by Fredrick Mulambia to put the 2011 ABSA Cup winners ahead early in the first half.

Shumah nearly turned provider moments later when he sent an inviting cross into the box, but Nchanga Goalkeeper, Victor Chabu, produced a brilliant double save to deny Mulambia and keep the score unchanged.

Nchanga Rangers responded strongly in the second half as they searched for an equaliser. Davie Zulu, Elliot Kampukesa, and Wesley Sichande all tested Lawrence Mulenga, but the Power Dynamos goalkeeper stood firm to register his fourth clean sheet.

Dominic Chanda sealed the victory in the 75th minute, finishing off a Prince Mumba assist to make it 2-0 and send Power into the last four. The defender’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award.

In the early kick off, Mufulira Wanderers held their nerve in the shootout, winning 5-4 against FC MUZA after a goalless draw in regulation time and booking their place as the third semi-finalist.

Solomon Mpasela missed the fifth penalty for MUZA, while Bartuel Tembo scored the winning penalty to send Mufulira Wanderers to the last four.

Mufulira Wanderers will face Power Dynamos while Chirundu United will square off with Red Arrows in the semifinals to be played next weekend.

The winners of the ABSA Bank Zambia sponsored competition will receive K1,100,000, while the runners-up will take home K450,000.

Individual excellence will also be rewarded, with K25,000 prizes earmarked for the Player of the Tournament, Golden Boot winner and Golden Glove recipient.

Man-of-the-match awards for the best performers in these games will pocket  K15,000.
