MUZA secure CAF Confed Cup, wins for ZESCO, Warriors and GBFC

Continental football is going to Mazabuka, it’s, confirmed following FC MUZA’s 2-1 win over Zanaco on Saturday afternoon. 

Rickson Ng’ambi and Andrew Phiri scored as the Elegant Dynamites edged the Bankers 2-1 at the Nakambala Stadium. 

The win takes FC MUZA to 56 points which can’t be matched by any team below them hence they will finish second and will play in the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in their history. 

Elsewhere, ZESCO United edged Nkana 1-0 thanks to a Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba second half goal. 

ZESCO United were reduced to ten men after Chanda Mukuka was sent off for a second bookable offence. 

Lumwana Radiants have held their place in the top flight for at least a little while as they held Nkwazi to a 2-2 draw with a late goal. 

Both Lumwana Radiants and Nkwazi will now need to win their final games to stand a chance of securing their stay in the top flight.

In Choma, Green Eagles came back from two goals down to hold Red Arrows 2-2. 

Akakulebelwa Mwachiaba scored a brace as Kabwe Warriors beat relegated Chambishi 3-1 while Green Buffaloes edged Buildcon 1-0.

  1. Congratulations FC Muza….it really is a remarkable achievement.
    On another note the minimum goals to qualify for the top goal scorer award should be 20 per season. At the moment 12, 13, 14 is the average for the last 5-8 years
    This should force individuals to sharpen their skills.
    It’s no wonder the like a of Nkana FC and Power improved after getting rid of some mediocre strikers….like for example Sate Sate.
