FC MUZA a win away from historical CAF Confederation Cup qualification

Mazabuka based Super League side FC MUZA are extraordinarily just a win away from securing continental football qualification.

The Elegant Dynamites are also a win away from securing their first major trophy in Zambian top flight football, the coveted ABSA Cup.

On Friday, the Football Association of Zambia awarded three points to FC MUZA from their week 30 MTN Super League abandoned match against Red Arrows.

The FAZ Disciplinary Committee found Red Arrows guilty of breaching the FAZ Disciplinary code 2021 edition article 31 and 57.

Arrows were further fined K20,000 by the FAZ Disciplinary Committee

“In terms of Article 57 and Article 31 of the FAZ Disciplinary Code 2021 edition, Red Arrows FC is found guilty. This Committee therefore imposes a fine K20,000 and Red Arrows further forfeits the week 30 fixture to Muza FC by 0-3 scoreline.”

The win takes MUZA to 53 points and a win this afternoon against Sensational Zanaco will see them secure CAF Confederation Cup football for the first time in their history.

MUZA will be looking to make three wins in a row this afternoon while Zanaco look to make it back to back wins under new boss Wedson Nyirenda.

MUZA host the Bankers at the Nakambala Stadium in Mazabuka this afternoon with kick off set for 15:00hrs Central African Time.

CUP GLORY BECKONS

FC MUZA could add their name to the illustrious list of teams who have won the Cup competition in the land next weekend when they take on Forest Rangers in the final.

The Mazabuka based side beat North Western Province side Trident 1-0 in the semi finals last month while Forest Rangers saw off Power Dynamos thanks to late Cephas Mulombwa header

The Champions of the 4.4 Million rich competition will walk away with K700,000 while the runners up will pocket K350,000. Coach of the tournament and player of the tournament accolades have been pegged at K25,000 with man of the match award being K15,000.
