It’s painful we have no points to show for the good play – Kalusha

Former Chipolopolo captain and current FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya has said the 2 – 1 loss suffered by Zambia at the hands of Tunisia is painful.

Former African footballer of the year communicated this after watching the Chipolopolo boys rue their dozen missed chances in a game they dominated but failed to win.

“Chipolopolo played well,” Kalusha who took Zambia to the 2006 Africa Cup of nations as coach said.

“We had so many chances at this level. At the end it’s painful, we have no points to show for it.”

Kalusha will be counting on Zambia beating Cape Verde in the final match of the group stage and will be hoping the result between Congo DR and Tunisia go their way.

  1. Janza is to blame.firstly, he needed to remove singluma and bring in a sharp mid fielder. we overused kalaba. mostly watch munthali at the back. he does not face the striker but rather follow them dontlet mayuka play 90 minutes. pair evance and sate sate, otherwise the efforts of kalaba would not have gone to waste again

  2. Guys as things stand we just have to beat cape Verde 1-0 and we are through surely we can do it let’s not give up we are in the race

      • @ Tc if drc beat Tunisia we are out on head to head. But I don’t see Tunisia losing they will fight for at least a draw because they can go out if cape verde win and they lose.

  3. Exactly. Janza must ensure that he beats Cape verd on Monday and we are in the quater finals. The nil all draw btwn DRC and Cabo verd has already gone in our way no more depending on other out come in our group. We just have to do it on our own now.

  4. @john, bro , zambia is not beating capeverde. i have very much given up that and thrown in the towel. this is the worst zambian set up ive watched since afcon 2002

    • Stumpy we are in the race we outplayed the tunisians I was shocked. In fact I think Tunisia fluked this win. The Zambians lost concentration after Mayuka got injured. If we play with this spirit we will beat cape Verde. The young boy lubambo musonda is a marvel

  5. Oh, Tc soccerman, we have to beat Cape verd at least by 2 nil. Still Tunisia will be tough, knowing that they have not yet qualified. If they lose to DRC and also Zambia lose to Cabo verd (God forbid) then Tunisia is out also.

  6. Yes what is the news on Mayuka?

If the game has lost all tempo in the 70th minute Janza brings on whoever, what about Chisamba? Complete failure to the boys by Janza. Janza for me is making the wrong choices consistently to give the guys momentum, its like the guys have to play against the other team and the terrible decisions of their own coach.

  7. Not yet out.am praying we will qualify. And after that we will be tough to be knocked out.believe me.Coach make a sub when the space of play retuds

  8. Our boys played well yesterday…the coach selected a good team for that encounter. I am really pleased with Kalaba, Musonda and Evans Kangwa, however, Musonda and Kangwa got tired and deserved to be substituted for the likes of Chisamba Lungu and other midfielders. Furthermore, the coach should have changed the formation after Mayuka scored and try to protect the lead. Despite missing a lot of chances Mayuka’s presence and physicality gave the Tunisia’s defence a lot of trouble…check what happened after he injured himself. There’s no need to sulky and beat ourselves over the loss but pull ourselves together and use our mistakes as strengths against Cape Verde on Monday…we can still qualify by beating Cape Verde 2-0 to be safe.
