Zambianfootball.co.zm fans have given a mixed reaction to the result scored by Zambia yesterday after Given Singuluma’s early strike was cancelled out by Yannick Bolasie for the two teams to share the spoils.
Coach Franklyn added his thoughts on why the Chipolopolo looked second best for long periods of the match;
We lacked ‘Verve and gusto’ going forward, we were poor to say the least.
There was wrong personnel deployed to play in a 4-2-3-1 formation and the ‘Teacher’ Mr Janza unfortunately got it wrong.
Rule 1, play players to their strengths; Singuluma can’t play as a base midfielder, automatically you put him out of the game.
Sate Sate cannot play in the hole, that position needs a ‘ball Player’ who will pull the strings and is comfortable on the ball.
Kalaba was quiet the whole game and didn’t even bother to switch flanks in order to get some joy elsewhere.
The way Congo dominated play, we needed individuals to try and hold on to possession to break their momentum and if anything press them higher as our formation demanded.
Unfortunately, we didn’t apply ourselves correctly causing panic in our own half and giving away too many fouls.
Against Tunisia we NEED to SWITCH ON if we are to MARCH ON.
But John came to the defense of the team stating that Congo DR is stronger than Tunisia and Cape Verde stating that Zambia now stands a good chance of progressing out of the group.
You guys talk too much. Janza is doing well. Drawing with Congo DR is a good result.
Congo DR is the best team in the group. They have the best clubs in Africa and the best talent in Europe.
Go and ask Renard what Congo did to him in Abidjan. Congo DR is better than Tunisia and Cape Verde they have much better quality. Who told you zambia was going to have it easy?
Zambia stands a good chance now of progressing because they drew with the strongest team in the group.

Don’t know why John is defending this performance. You can defend the result, but I honestly wonder if he watched the full match. Zambia was non existent in the 2nd half. This game could have ended 3-1. Zambia basically played the same way Ghana did today, no real push in the second half.

Janza has not selected enough quality in midfield with sinkala out I’m concerned. The performance was poor yes but drc is a strong team. Look at Ghana they are out of this afcon in my opinion. Yeah, definitely disappointed with the SA loss. They played so well. Missed too many chances against a more experienced Algeria then lost their shape after the own goal. Best game of the tournament so far. Enjoyed it.
