The Zambia national team has fallen 9 places on the FIFA/Coca Cola World rankings according to the latest ranking released in Zurich.
The Chipolopolo fell further from a poor 79th position to 88th position in the world as they fell out of the top 20 in Africa to rank 23rd on the continent.
This is the first time Zambia is ranking outside the top 20 in Africa since September, 2014.
The Chipolopolo had a lot of activity in the month of June playing Guinea Bissau, Swaziland and Lesotho but only managed one win against lowly ranked Lesotho losing the rest.
The George Lwandamina coached side has only won once in the last 10 games marking one of the worst runs by the 2012 African Champions.
Guinea Bissau who peeped Zambia to a spot at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations are now ranked ahead of Zambia in position 75 after going up 40 places.
Zambia next game is a formality fixture against Kenya who leap frogged Zambia to stand at 22nd in Africa.

From copper bullets to rubber bullets. Kalu is smiling @Sonta
all this it’s because of poor player selection by the coach.
Mayo ehe … My ZAMBIA p

Zambia needs patience to develop sturdy football. Develop the under 20 soccer to compete at international level seriously just like Ghana, and you can have enough young quality players to feed the national team. Also a few players from Zambia playing in top European league can introduce the robust and aggressive pattern that does not give up easily. Zambia football federation also needs to pull their weight in pumping money into football standard.
1: Let us develop our football from the bottom up, not top down. The under 20s, 17s are the key. Thank you for your positive suggestion, brother
This is disaster now
