My debut came at the right time – Computer Mwepu

Zambia national team midfielder Enock ‘Computer’ Mwepu says his debut for Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg came at the right time.

The former Napsa Stars player was a second half substitute in Salzburg’s 3-1 over ASK BSC BRUCK in the UNIQ ÖFB cup.

“I am happy and glad because, I have been waiting for this day to come and finally it has come at the right time… with an assist and a big win for the team,” Mwepu told Zambianfootball.co.zm

The towering midfielder says having fellow countryman Patson Daka around was very helpful made it easy for him to adapt.

“It is awesome to have him around, he encouraged me and helped me a lot with my morale before the game and when coming on in the game,” he said.

” The senior players are all friendly, supportive and caring. I did not feel lost because of the team’s massive togetherness. They welcomed me very well,” he added.

The 19 year old was on hand to assist the second goal of the match to help his team progress to the next round of the UNIQ ÖFB Cup.

It has been a good month for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations winner after he made his national team debut against Algeria on 2nd November in a game he went on to score a goal in a 3 – 1 win over the North Africans and went on to play the entire game in the return leg.

He is expected to be part of the Chipolopolo squad that will face Nigeria in the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifier.

  2. Computer Mwepu! Thumbs up! Splendid performance. Can’t wait to see you and the other guys embarrass Nigeria in their own back yard. Even if they managed to escape from the desert fox and from the jaws of the indomitable lions, know that the only thing that can shoot down the Eagle is the bullet. The copper bullet. Nigeria can’t doj a bullet. So, here we come Nigeria, make sure you ware bullet proofs coz our bullets will be so hard this time. I pity you… Let’s go chipolopolo!

  3. I thought you went down too easily when that Italian boy smacked you in the face during the u20 world cup. I think we could have reached the final had they not put you out of the game. It tells you about the kind of obstacles you will face if you are to reach the very top.
