Chiyangi to ring changes…. Mwepu to start as Sunzu maybe benched

Chipolopolo stand-in coach Aggrey Chiyangi is expected to make a number of changes to his starting line up for Tuesday’s Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that Chiyangi is likely to tinker with his midfield following the arrival of Austria based midfielder Enock ‘Computer’ Mwepu who is expected to walk straight into the starting line up.

2017 CAF young player of the year, Patson Daka is also likely to start up front leading the charge for three points against Joey Antipas’ Warriors.

At the back, Chiyangi may also opt to start veteran defender Stophila Sunzu on the bench to try out a Tandi Mwape, Kabaso Chongo partnership with Clement Mwape starting at right-back.

Despite it not being clear which players will drop to the bench one thing is clear, Chiyangi is spoilt for choice and the players know that they need to fight for their places.

Toaster Nsabata is also not safe between the sticks following his poor showing in the Blida disaster which saw Zambia being humiliated 5-0 by the Desert Foxes of Algeria. South Africa based Cyril Mwenya Chibwe and Sebastian Mwange are fiercely fighting to displace the Zanaco goal minder.

Zambia takes on Zimbabwe on Tuesday, November 19th at 18:00hrs at the National Heroes Stadium.

    • Toaster should not be anywhere near the national team. He is a failed project at this level. Remember the freindly against Japan, the CHAN qualifier against Swaziland ! Lets move on with Mwange or that polokwane City boy.

  1. I can list 5 players who are overrated. All those Cletus, Shongas, and that Kangwa you brought back.
I never see uyo Thandi Mwape na Clement wenu. National players who play with heart of patriotism are likes of:
Mwange, Mwepu, Donoshano, Sunzu, Salulani, Augustine Mulenga… These are National team players.
You sidelined the Kalaba, Mweene, Kondwani, Ziyo Tembo

  2. I think Zambian coaches are just poor in terms of selecting players. How do u leave Rainford Kalaba( a skilled player with experience) and bring in the likes of bena Lameck, etc. No sense!
We need players that have a heart for the country. Hopefully Mwepu and Data will play for these Northern Rhodesians
