EXCLUSIVE: A Walk-Over Loss At Home Looming For Chambishi

…Players Boycott Camp Ahead of Chirundu Clash

By Wami Katanga

Troubled National League side Chambishi FC are racing against time to be ready to fulfill this afternoon’s fixture against Chirundu United at home.

Dispirited Chambishi players have boycotted preparations and camp in protest against the club leadership’s inefficiencies that has resulted in the players go unpaid for the past five months.

The players have vowed not provide themselves for today’s encounter against Chirundu without the club heeding to their demands to have their salary and bonus arrears settled.

Chambishi now look destined for unwanted record of becoming the first Copperbelt side to be relegated from the National League with a walk-over loss at home this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Mike Susu, a renowned football enthusiast in Chambishi town, has described the prevailing situation at the club as disappointing.

“The situation is unfortunate looking at the fact that we were hoping to see the team win the two remaining fixtures and hope to at least survive relegation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chirundu could seal their promotion into the MTN Super League even without kicking a ball with a win over Chambishi this afternoon.
