There has been a slight change in the Turkish Women’s Cup fixtures after the withdrawal of Venezuela.
The Copper Queens will now take on North Macedonia in their opening match on Wednesday at 10:00 hrs at the Miracle Sports Complex.
The COSAFA Champions will take on Slovenia and Uzbekistan on 18th and 21st February respectively.
The local Queens have already been joined by the Kazakhstan based trio of Martha Tembo, Hellen Chanda and Ireen ‘Xavi’ Lungu together with Hazel Nali and Prisca Chilufya.
More foreign players are expected to join the team this afternoon.
The Turkish Women’s Cup is one of the preparatory tournaments for the Copper Queens ahead of their maiden appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup that will be co- hosted by New Zealand and Australia in July.
The Copper Queens are in Group C alongside Spain, Costa Rica and Japan.
