The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed that Zambia will host a Four Nations women’s tournament during the upcoming FIFA international window from 1–9 June at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
In a joint statement released alongside the Football Associations of Kenya, Lesotho and Zimbabwe, FAZ confirmed that the four senior women’s national teams will participate in the tournament as part of preparations for upcoming international assignments, including the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
“The tournament will not just be a platform to enhance the teams’ competitiveness but an opportunity to foster collaboration among the four nations,” the statement read.
“We look forward to a great football festival and celebration of excellence with some of the leading personalities in the women’s game set to be part of this tournament.”
For Zambia’s Copper Queens, the competition forms another key phase in preparations for WAFCON, which will be staged in Morocco from 26 July to 16 August.
Bruce Mwape’s side last month competed in the FIFA Series tournament in Brazil, where they suffered defeats to hosts Brazil and Canada before finishing with a draw against South Korea.
At the continental finals, Zambia have been drawn in a challenging Group C alongside defending champions Nigeria, regional rivals Malawi and Egypt.
The tournament in Morocco will also serve as part of the qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with four automatic qualification spots available to African nations.
Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium is expected to host all fixtures of the Four Nations tournament, with further details on the match schedule set to be announced in due course.
