Young Green Eagles head coach Kelvin Mwaanga was left disappointed on Saturday after his team failed to use their numerical advantage as they played out to a 1-1 draw with 9-man Indeni at Khosa Stadium.
Mwaanga who had no kind words for his players said his boys grew big-headed after the opponents were reduced to ten men and they were leading 1-0.
“It’s a disappointment, I have no words to say the boys have disappointed me badly this was a must-win game and we then we draw not even a draw it’s a loss we have lost,” Mwaanga told the ZamFoot Crew.
“We grew big-headed after those two red cards, we thought everything was done, but they moved into gear, huh, It’s a disappointment to tell you the truth, we have completely lost,” he added.
Next up for the team from Kafue is a crucial encounter against Green Eagles away in Choma. Mwaanga has also revealed that his team is in the market for a striker to help them get goals.
“Next we have a hard game, we are going to Choma to play Green Eagles, we will sit with our players because the only problem we have the mental aspect and maturity. We have young boys and maybe the league may be too big for them,” he said.
” Yes, for sure, so the doors are open and our eyes are open and we try to pick one-two players who can help us. I can assure you that we playing good football, ” he added.
Andrew Phiri put Young Eagles in the lead in the 60th minute from the penalty spot before Indeni were reduced to nine men with Graven Chitalu and Clement ‘Jakuzi’ Mulenga was sent off. Indeni however fought back to rescue a point with Moses Soko scoring at the death.
