Green Buffaloes coach Bilton Musonda believes it’s difficult for teams like Green buffaloes to compete favorably in the transfer market because of big spending clubs.
Musonda revealed that he wanted to acquire at least two strikers during the break but could not because the market is crowded with big spenders. He also revealed plans to convert two midfielders to strikers to deal with the shortage they have upfront.
“It’s unfortunate that when we had a break and wanted to acquire two or three players upfront but the market is crowded with alot of clubs with big budgets making it difficult for us who are a government sponsored out-fit,”he said.
” Coming to today’s game I think you saw that we lacked a striker despite Friday Samu being on the pitch. He failed to keep the ball or create any chance. We just have to work with our midfielders who can be converted to strikers and we will definitely get our or two, ” he added.
The Green Buffaloes boss has in the past hinted on his desire to bring in one or two quality strikers to help the team in the goal scoring department. However it seems that will be hard to do with a number of Super League teams flexing their financial muscle.
The army sponsored side we’re eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday after they only managed to score one goal at Nkoloma Stadium when they needed to score three to qualify to the play offs following their 4-1 first leg defeat.
