Green Buffaloes exit Confederations Cup

GREEN BUFFALOES EXIT CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP.

By Jane Mwemba.

Green buffaloes football club hosted CS sfaxien of Tunisia in the CAF confederations cup second leg at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka yesterday.

It is said that nothing is impossible in football but bilton Musonda’s side was skating on thin ice yesterday after failing to find the back of the net during the first 45 minutes of the game.

Despite Mike Katiba scoring for the home team this was not enough to earn the Lusaka side a spot in the next round, when asked about his general reactions during the post match interview Musonda said.

“today we have won but we have not qualified and it’s a sad situation, coming to the game more especially in the second half it’s unfortunate that we scored only goal.”

When asked if he has intentions of signing new players to the team Musonda said” the market is crowded with people who have alot of money so for our team which is sponsored by the government it’s very difficult to get players who are costly.

Registration of players closes by 31st December, Green buffaloes have few days left to get the job done in readiness for next season.

Following a 4-1 win in Tunisia last week, Sfaxien progress to the next round with a 2-4 win on Aggregate and Green buffaloes will have to shift attention and focus on the league what which is slated to start in January 2019.

  1. Buffaloes have been the worst and Green Eagles have been the best performers since they had no prior experience in caf competitions.
