CS Sfaxien coach Ruud Krol heaped praise on Green buffaloes as a team that loves to play football which is something he enjoys being a former player himself. Krol said football was played to entertain the fans and that it was the main objective.
” They are a team that want to play football, which I like because I was a player who enjoyed playing football. In my coaching it’s the same thing I like teams that try their best to play football because that’s the objective to entertain the fans in the Stadium. I think they try their best to play football,” he said.
His opposite number Bilton Musonda revealed that Diamond Chikwekwe and Friday Samu showed a lot of promise in training that’s why started the match despite flopping in the game itself.
The duo were substituted at half time after they had a disappointing first 45 minutes and replaced by Yubya Mubita and Felix Katongo.
“The guys who started showed some impetus going forward in training and showed that they could give us a good game but coming to the game they did not turn up. we had to give them time to see if they could come to the party but unfortunately they didn’t so at half time we had to make changes, ” he said.
“In the first half we had alot of breakdowns in the midfield that’s why we could not keep the ball. In the second half we kept the ball and that’s why we looked good going forward.”
“We did not take long to make substations. Football is about planning and that’s how we planned. We can even substitute in the last two minutes and a player can make a difference in that same time. It does not matter how many minutes one plays to make a difference even our substitutes today came at the right time. We could have made them in the first half but it could have just been the same, That’s how football is. It’s all about planning,” he added.
Buffaloes were eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup despite a one nil win in the second leg on. Sunday at Nkoloma Stadium as it was not in enough to overturn their 4-1 first leg defeat.
