Zambia national team shot stopper Kennedy Mweene will heard home for the Chipolopolo camp without seeing any weekend action for his South African club Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 31 year old was not named on the bench for the CAF Champions League finalists for Saturday’s game against Bidvest Wits.
Mweene was in goal for Sundowns’ only league match of the season and he kept a clean sheet against Chippa United.
Without need to rest players now, Dennis Onyango is back in goal with Wayne Sandiland winning the right to sit on the bench ahead of Mweene.
Despite his lack of regular game time, he remains the Zambianfootball.co.zm fans favorite to start against Nigeria according to the currently running poll statistics.
The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner was left out of the Chipolopolo squad that played Kenya in Zambia’s last fixture.
He is expected to join camp on Sunday.

balipwa ba mweene
pipo ar jalousy
Let the coach call chamanga to be partnered with mbesuma upfront.kalengo not reliable these days.
mwene alipwa
let Jacob start in goal we cannot risk our wc qualification by putting mweene please let Jacob Banda Man the goal post.Game time is very important. afcon qualification unfeat players made us to pay a price
Jacob Banda is even worse and useless in goal.
Mweene is a number one stopper only, S.A clubs want to disadvantage Zambia but he knws wat is at stake he commands the defence verywell.i like his style.
Mweene look for a new club
let mweene starts z the only keeper we had in zambia
Lack of goalkeepers
Mweene z still good and cannot be compared to jacob even danny munyau is better than jacob.jacob allows useless goals so coach should go for mweene
Mweene is still very good…As Zambians,,let us be careful with RSA clubs..It’s like the RSA are working at destroying our players….How can you explain how Mbesuma was treated at Orlando Pirrates,,Isaac Chansa as well…the list is endless…
BA MWEENE A BOLA?AT JOBCO BANDA let us supot our team chipolopolo…
