Zambia Super League side Nkana has explained the reasons behind the blue and white striped jersey they wore during yesterday’s 2-0 loss to Forest Rangers at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
In a post on their official Facebook page monitored by the ZamFoot Crew, Nkana explained that the jersey was a temporal one and not an official jersey.
Nkana signed a contract with Umbro but it seems they are still yet to receive the official kits from the supplier.

IT’S NOT OUR 2020/2021 OFFICIAL KIT!!
In yesterday’s game at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Nkana was wearing a blue and white striped Umbro jersey.
Kindly note that the jersey in question is NOT Nkana’s official jersey for the 2020/2021 Soccer Season.
The blue and white striped Umbro jersey is a TEMPORAL one as we await our OFFICIAL 2020/2021 Kit which is expected anytime this month of November 2020.
As you have noticed with our ongoing player unveilings, we have been using the Mafro jerseys for the sake of unveiling new players in our colors which is RED and WHITE.
However, since the 2020/2021 league games have started and we have signed contracts with Umbro and other sponsors, it was important NOT to use Mafro jersey for our opening game.
Again let me emphasize that the blue and white striped Umbro jersey used in the Forest, Nkana game is in NO WAY the official jersey for the 2020/2021 soccer season. It is a TEMPORAL kit!!🙏
