Nchanga Rangers sack Chiyangi, Kilambe

Relegation threatened Nchanga Rangers have sacked head coach Aggrey Chiyangi following the team’s poor string of results.

Chiyangi’s assistant Rotson Kilambe has also be sacked.

This follows their defeat 3-0 to Zesco United on Saturday.

The defeat has left the 1998 Zambian Super League Champions a point above the relegation zone.

Rangers have only won 8 games this season.

Chiyangi and Kilambe were roped in middle through the season after Robert Tembo was sacked.

After training Green Eagles into a top side, Chiyangi was also fired by the Choma based side following a string of poor results.

  1. Why do clubs take their ire on coaches all the time?
By the time Chiyangi or even Danny Kabwe and others like Numba Mumamba were brought into their new roles Nchanga Rangers, Chambishi and even Kabwe Warriors were in trouble. While the later were lucky to pull out of the mire others were not so lucky.
It appears club’s that fail to invest on long term visions for their clubs use coaches as a scapegoat to hire and fire when it suits them.
