Power Dynamos and Red Arrows will face off in the 2026 ABSA Cup final after they saw off Mighty Mufulira Wanderers and Chirundu United respectively.
In the early kick off, Abayellow beat Mufulira Wanderers 2-1 on post match penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time.
Goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga was the hero as he made three crucial saves to send the two time Champions to the final.
Samuel Bamidele Ayodeji, and Ishmael Ankobo scored for Power Dynamos while William Kamwanga was the only one who converted from 12 yards for Mufulira Wanderers. Dominic Chanda and Kondwani Chiboni missed their spot kicks for Aba Yellow.
Patson Kwataime, Elijah Jere, Maybin Mpoyi and Bartuel Tembo missed the penalties for Wanderers, three of them saved by Lawrence Mulenga.
In the second match of the day, the Airmen sailed through to the final after ending Chirundu United’s fairytale.
Goals from Angel Lubamba and Joseph Phiri were enough to send Chisi Mbewe’s side to their third straight ABSA Cup final, a record.
Angel Lubamba scored the opener in the 16th minute to put Chisi Mbewe’s side in the lead. The match then became more balanced with Chirundu United pushing for an equalizer.
The Airmen however sealed the win in the 83rd minute, Joseph Phiri picked up a Godfrey Ngwenya ball before beating a defender and a goalkeeper to slot home, and double the lead.
The winners of the ABSA Bank Zambia sponsored competition will receive K1,100,000, while the runners-up will take home K450,000.
Individual excellence will also be rewarded, with K25,000 prizes earmarked for the Player of the Tournament, Golden Boot winner and Golden Glove recipient.
Man-of-the-match awards for the best performers in these games will pocket K15,000.
