Patson Daka and his Leicester City side have been relegated to the third tier of English football.
The Leicester City drop was confirmed following a 2–2 draw with Hull City, sealing their fate in Sky Bet League One.
Liam Millar opened the scoring after 18 minutes, with Asmir Begović mishandling a clearance, allowing the Canadian to advance into the box and curl the ball into the far corner.
Jordan James gave Leicester hope early in the second half from the penalty spot after Abdul Fatawu was brought down by Lewis Koumas. Moments later, Luke Thomas turned the game on its head, volleying home unmarked from the centre of the box.
However, Oli McBurnie equalised for the Tigers in the 63rd minute, firing home powerfully from close range.
A decade ago, the Foxes produced one of the most remarkable achievements in sporting history, winning the Premier League title against 5,000–1 odds. They also lifted the FA Cup in 2021.
This season, however, Leicester have managed just 42 points from a possible 132.
In 2016–17, they reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, facing Atlético Madrid. A decade on, they will now compete alongside sides such as Bromley, who have spent 132 of their 134-year history in non-league football.
