ZANACO have confirmed the departure of 12 players as the club continues its squad restructuring ahead of the 2026/27 MTN Super League season.
The Bankers announced on Thursday that Isaac Shamujompa, Samuel Sikaonga, Nyembe Okechi Alon and Isaah Kazembe have left following the expiry of their contracts, while John Chishimba, Christopher Muhango and Chaniza Zulu have departed by mutual consent. Loan spells for Eliya Mandanji, Chipo Manda and George Ngoma have also come to an end, with Willson Chisala completing a permanent transfer to MTN Super League champions Power Dynamos and Prosper Chiluya also leaving after his contract expired.
In a statement, the Lusaka club thanked the departing players for their commitment and professionalism during their time at Sunset Stadium. “The Club expresses its sincere appreciation to all departing players for their service, dedication, professionalism, and commitment during their tenure with Zanaco Football Club. Their contributions to the Club are duly acknowledged, and we extend our best wishes to each of them as they pursue the next phase of their professional careers,” the statement read.
Several of the departing players have already secured new clubs. Mandanji has joined Red Arrows after returning from his loan spell, while fellow Kafue Celtic loanee Manda has signed for NAPSA Stars. Kazembe has made his move to Kabwe Warriors permanent after impressing during a season-long loan with the Magnificent People’s Team, and Chisala has linked up with reigning league champions Power Dynamos.
Among the notable exits is left-back Prosper Chiluya, a member of Zambia’s triumphant 2017 Africa U20 Cup of Nations-winning squad. The experienced defender leaves after a career that has included spells with Kabwe Warriors, Nkwazi and Red Arrows, as well as overseas stints with Pafos FC in Cyprus and Bethlehem Steel in the United States.
Shamujompa also ends a significant chapter with the Bankers after spending five years at the club following his arrival from Buildcon in 2021. The defender had previously featured for Nchanga Rangers before establishing himself as a key member of the ZANACO squad.
Former Zambia Under-20 international John Chishimba departs after just one season, having joined from ZESCO United at the start of the previous campaign. Meanwhile, 20-year-old defender Nyembe Okechi Alon also leaves after a brief stay, having signed a one-year contract from Tanzanian giants Simba SC in September 2025.
