Mwepu, Daka jet in to complete Chipolopolo squad

Five players have joined the Copper Bullets squad in preparation for the back-to-back Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria and Zimbabwe.

Poland-based midfielder Lubambo Musonda and the Austria-based duo of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu completed the Chipolopolo squad after their arrival this afternoon. The trio was on the same Ethiopian Airline flight.

Earlier, Amazulu striker Augustine Mulenga and Black Leopards midfielder Rodrick Kabwe jetted in to join the Chipolopolo camp.

The arrival of the five players completes the 12 foreign-based contingents for the match.

Others already in the camp are Gamphani Jones Lungu of Supersport United, goalkeeper Mwenya Chibwe, defenders Kabaso Chongo, Tandi Mwape, midfielders Nathan Sinkala, Clatous Chota Chama, and Rally Bwalya.

The match against Algeria will be played on Thursday at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka at 21:00hours.

Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s side will wrap up the qualifiers with an away fixture against Zimbabwe on Monday next week.

Rodrick Kabwe (l), Augustine Mulenga (r) have also joined camp while Brian Mwila and Justin Shonga are out injured

  1. No more excuses, coach. Daka is here. Mwepu is here. Clatous is here. That is the cream of Zambian soccer at the moment. You fail to qualify at own peril

  2. Let us just take these two games preparatory matches for the world cup qualifiers. Coz Africa cup yena it’s beyond our reach thanks to chiyengi and Lwandamina
