Chongwe United continues to impress in the Lusaka Province Division 1 league whereas Young Zanaco managed a first win away from home and Lusaka City Council remains unbeaten in a week 19 round.
Eleven games were played in the Lusaka Province Division 1 league and for the Young Zanaco team, it was a winning drought that had fallen on them as they failed to collect maximum points.
In a week 19 fixture, a 12th match of the season, the drought came to an end at Miller Ground when they face Paramilitary FC. Three goals from Mike Sibambe, Anderson Chilape, and Robert Zulu were enough to guide the Young banker’s side to a 3-2 win, They’re first ever leagued victory this season.
Despite the win, young Zanaco is still bottom of the table with six points whereas Paramilitary is on number 13 with 12 points from 11 games they have played.
An impressive 2-1 win against Athletico Lusaka on Saturday means Young Green Buffaloes have now caught up with leaders Misisi Academy as they share an equal number of points.
Misisi Academy who drew nil-all against Vector is still topping the table with 23 points joint with Young Green Buffaloes who are second also with 23 points only separated by goal difference which favors Misisi Academy. Athletico Lusaka has now dropped to number 15 with only 9 points to their name.
After a nil-all draw, Misisi youth Academy’s Impressive run continues and what is so extraordinary about their good run is that their backline and goalkeeping department has conceded only 4 goals.
Lusaka City Council’s win over Airport Warriors sees them continue with their impressive unbeaten run record. The Lusaka City Council side is still chasing for the national league playoffs qualification as they now just 1 point behind the leaders. The only goal of the match came from Dada Banda.
Three games in a row without a defeat for Jethrow Mutalise’s Chongwe United side as they managed to collect another 3 points after a 2-0 win over Chainda Bombers. Chongwe United has now moved to 12th place on the table after collecting 7 points from the last 3 matches.
4th placed Young Napsa who started the season on a poor note have now reorganized themselves as they registered yet another 2-1 win over yet another team that has lost form in Sable Bulls.
The 14th placed Bulls have only collected 1 point from their last four matches.
