2026 ABSA CUP: Red Arrows and Chirundu through to ABSA Cup semisĀ 

Two time winners Red Arrows and Chirundu on Saturday made it to the last four of the 2026 ABSA Cup after beating Play It Forward and ZANACO FC respectively. 

In the early kick off, Chirundu United caused another upset as they shocked ZANACO FC 1-0. A 25th minute strike from Darius Phiri was the difference at Arthur Davies Stadium. 

Darius Phiri was named as the Man of the Match thanks to his performance that helped Chirundu United reach the semi-finals.

In the second match,Red Arrows run riot seeing off Play It Forward 4-1 to seal a place in the last four. 

Albert Kangwanda was the man who provided the spark in the 25th minute after Angel Lubamba set him on the way with a brilliant pass. Latching onto a well worked move, Kangwanda unleashed a low shot to put Chisi Mbewe’s men in the lead. 

Play It Forward responded in the 40th minute,Daison Phiri with a brilliant free kick to level matters. 

The Airmen however went ahead seven minutes into the second stanza, Kangwanda once again proved decisive and calmly restored the lead with a composed finish after being set up by Ackim Mumba.

Alassane Diarra extended the advantage with a superb low drive from range in the 63rd minute, A minute later, Ackim Mumba added a fourth, meeting Kangwanda’s intelligent delivery with a well taken diving header to seal a comfortable win. 

Kangwanda was named the player of the match thanks to his brace and two assists, truly a superb performance from the former Kafue Celtic player. 

The two teams will face off in the semi finals. The 19th edition of the ABSA Cup continues this afternoon in Lusaka as FC MUZA and Mufulira Wanderers face off while Power Dynamos battle Nchanga Rangers at Nkoloma Stadium.
