    • You have the right to complain as much as you want but following most of your comments you come across as a loud mouth with no solution but seeking for attention.

  1. Billy….Many factors contribute to this. I will not want to add overage to it, it is the easiest excuse people give. Since Fifa confirmed them to be U-17, them who am I to dispute that?

Most young prospects from Africa end up in mediocre teams after this type of tournament which definitely affect their development. Most of them are from poor/average family, the family look up to them for way out. The sign a contract with any available foreign team without considering the future just becos they wish to meet the family needs. Some of these boys are not dat educated so they make bad choices and they agents that should help they with decision making are only after their pockets. They care less about the player future. Signing for a mediocre will not doubt affect a player’s development.

Most of the players from their european counterparts are already with certain clubs. These clubs take care of these players after the tournament. 9 of the croatia starting eleven in this tournament are playing in dinamo zagreb in croatia. They play together and their FA look after their development. Same with other teams from europe.
But here in Africa, our leagues are not there. Our FA can’t monitor proper development of these players, since the players are out there playing for division 2,division 3 of some eastern european clubsides. How many clubs in africa have youth teams U-19, U-21, youth teams like Enyimba U-21, Zanaco-21, Nkana-21….
Many of them don’t make it to the senior team and the young future big stars fade away.
You can’t compare the development of a player in a top club to that of a player in a mediocre team. Neymar played in 2009 U-17, De gea was spain goalkeeper, Bojan krkic Toni Kroos, Eden Hazard, Victor Moses(he represented England U-17) check the club these players played for after the tournament and see the impact it added to the progress. Compare this to their counterparts in useless clubs and see the difference….

So 6-8 years after the youth tournament most of them fail to make meaningful improvement. They get to the senior team and they find it hard to compete with other top countries. And the cycle continues.

Way out, protect the young talents from destiny changing agents, get them good deals with clubs with good youth system, monitor them, motivate them, encourage them and don’t over rush them to senior team. It will only kill the player morale and confidence if he fails to deliver when given the chance bcos the fans are there to tear him apart with insults.

    • Well said Badosqi. You’ve raised substantial points. It’s understandable. Although I can also add age cheating, which you disputed at first. It’s the all range of issues from age cheating, personal development, mentorship & coaching, culture to confidence.

  2. @ FLOYD u dont know football lwandamina is a pathetic coach janza was better than this experimento coach, he is destroying zambianfootball he failed to beat guinea bissau at home, he was held by minows mozambic in maputo & lost to egypt bcoz of his experiment of players.

  3. Too much complaining. Even players have to deliver. Look at Chelsea at the moment. Lets not be quick to blame individuals. Football is a team game. Everyone has to contribute to achieve the desired out come

    • I agree with TT how long will u complain with no solutions. those two kids back, whatever u call them, need help. try get their contacts n tell them that’s they ve quite a good chance to make it n improve. some best defenders at zed ve done nothing coz u dint tok to them. Now u are there guide them together u we could be proud of them.

  4. @ Mr TT Our professional there enjoying game time every weekend but our coach dosent want to use them he think he can make his on players to win Afcon & qualify to de word cup, thats what we hv be complaining.

  5. I always hear the same excuse from Zambians when they are jealous of success by west african teams especially Ghana and Nigeria. Age cheating this, Caf corruption that. The last set of Ghana and Nigeria U-17/U-20 s have already signed for top European teams and some are already in the starting 11!
Yaw yeboah of Ghana is breaking in to lille while Isaac success and wilfried Ndidi of Nigeria are indispensable names in starting teams of Granada(la liga) and genk(Belgium).

Iheanacho is on the verge of breaking into Manchester city starting 11, a team with the likes of yaya toure, Kevin debruyne, sterling, nasri, aguero, david silva etc. That is a bigger achievement than any Zambian export has managed in the past 20 years.

  6. Did you mean jealous? Or maybe jerous is a new English word? Lol
Who exactly are your daily bread? You can’t qualify to the world cup let alone make it out the group, you only have 1 afcon trophy,no zambian player has ever made it in any of the top 5 leagues, no zambian has featured in the pinnacle of club football(Uefa champions league) never mind winning it. But but but “they are our daily bread” lol.

  7. If west africans are your customers as you claim then why do they keep qualifying to world tournaments (world cup, Olympics, U-20 etc) and you don’t? Or how do you explain that they always make it to semi finals and finals of afcon while you keep getting kicked out in the group stages bar a few exceptions?

  8. hahahahahaha….daily bread indeed. Daily bread yet they are the countries representing Africa in every fifa tournament. They are not jealous but they wish to have players in top european leagues like us. Look at the epl, see the number of ghanian and nigerian players playing there. I guess they do not want this. Things they are good at are blaming west africans, playing the victim game, blame CAF.

  9. lol @badosqi I tire for these people. The funniest thing is when a zambian player finally scores a goal in Europe(usually once every 4-5 weeks) say a mayuka or fwayo tembo in ligue 2 and Romania of all places, you read funny comments like “they are red hot” or “they are the best players in Africa” and such nonsense. Or you see them comparing Kalaba who plays for tp mazembe and previously couldn’t cut it in Portugal to a world class star like yaya toure or Andrew Ayew or Gervinho.
    Delusions of grandeur. Lol

  10. lol @once every 4-5 weeks, delusions of grandeur and they are the best players in Africa. I noticed recently when mayuka scored on his debut for Metz…. This place was something else that day, I read and lmao at crazy comments I read here dat day. It was like he scored a world cup winning goal against germany.

  11. I don’t know why u west Africans are coming here to brag. Zambia is on course to being an African giant. They have already won afcon away from home which big nations like Algeria and Senegal have failed to do. Zambia is consistently qualifying for caf competitions. We are through to chan, under 23 afcon and we are hosting the next under 20 afcon. Clearly we are building and will soon export to leagues across Europe and qualify for world cup soon.

  12. let a zambian player score in europe then next u see west africans flooding this site with news of west african players doin well in europe

  13. congrats mbesuma tho off late uv had a dry spell but we kno u. As 4 boyd & chepeshi thr combination has failed us,let chicken try others WC is a crucial game its not Zambian lotto were u jst guess numbers.

  14. being with more players in europe it means nothing in africanfootball. we hummerd those players like Drogba, Yaya, Colo Toure, Gervinho, Tiote, Goakeeper Barry he failed to stop even one penalty, every kick he was diving on a wrong way! then wht u talking u making noise here!

  15. @bandana where you play it does not matter.look the unbelievable skills of chisamba lung jersy no3 and isaac chansa they managed to outclass yaya toure and company.and another commentator was caught saying yaya toure has been reduced from a headmaster to a temporal teacher by an unknown young boy wearing jearsy no 19. watch out recently zambian under 23 beat an overrated ivory coast under twenty three team.zip your month.

  16. more especialy ghana we beat them twice in a role with there professionals in bata & ndola. u only rely on cups which u won in 70s that was amature football. trothless currently ghana squad.

  17. what is all these blabber about “hummering ivory coast”? Whatever that means. No one said you can’t beat ivory coast or any west african team for that matter. You claimed that they are your daily bread and I asked you a simple question; how come you let your daily bread and customers qualify and represent you in every fifa tournament and also how come they have better afcon records than you do?
You keep talking about a game you played almost 4 yrs ago, which in fact, you tied with them and triumphed on penalties. Yet I keep hearing “hummer ivory coast” .

  18. we also beat senegal with the likes of demba ba, musa sow, dame ndoye, soulemane diawara, papis demba cisse, mamadou niang, bubacar gueye, souleymane camara, etc. wht are u saying? u are daily bread.

  19. we also beat senegal with the likes of demba ba, musa sow, dame ndoye, soulemane diawara, papis demba cisse, mamadou niang, bubacar gueye, souleymane camara, etc. wht are u saying? u our daily bread.

  20. Please don’t be so naive as to compare your achievements in football to the likes of Ghana, Nigeria and ivory coast.
    Ghana – 4 afcon titles,3 world cup appearances(quarter final and last 16)
Nigeria- 3 afcon titles, 5 world cup appearances(3 last 16) and olympic gold medalists
Civ- 2 afcon titles and 3 world cup appearances.

Zambia- 1 afcon and a few games against west african teams.

  21. @abram you seem to cling so much on individual matches instead of achievements. Ok you “hummered Civ, senegal and Ghana. Fine. Before and after then what did you achieve with all the “hummerings”?

It’s almost like an arsenal fan bragging to a Madrid fan that they haven’t beat them before. If you beat a west african team and end up still not qualifying what do you gain?
You beat Ghana in the world cup qualifiers and they still qualified over you, now you’re bragging of having beaten Civ U-23 but forget that you may well end up not qualifying to the Olympics.

  22. How ignorant! The team to represent Africa at 2013 confed was already chosen before a ball was kicked, Caf couldn’t have known that a west african team or even Nigeria was going to win it. Come on don’t be retarded!

  23. dont just com here & make noise. we hv played so many games with west africa teams & we hv been getting gud results. we can only respect north africans in our continent.

  24. Besides this whole caf favoring west africans conspiracy theory is stupid. Caf president is from central Africa, Secretary general is from north Africa. Heck even Kalusha has a higher standing in Caf politics than west africans.

  25. Before Zambia won Afcon 2012, it was already decided by caf that 2013 winner will represent Africa at Confed 2013.

Look at it, it makes more sense. It is more in the interest of Africa that the more recent winners should represent as they are more likely to be the inform team than a previous winner. As evidenced in the 2013 Afcon where Zambia failed to make it out the group. They simply were not the same team they were 1 yr before that.

  26. Was age cheating also the reason why Nigeria qualified and reached the knockout round in Brazil? A feat you can only dream of.

You haven’t answered my question yet. When did you beat Nigeria last in any age category, male ot female!

  27. I dnt like this argument that you people from west african are bring here this is zamfoot we have the right to praise our players if they are doing well

  28. It is understandable that some people talk to talk with nothing progressive to say. That is life. The best thing one can do is let the run their mouth because that is what they are good for.
