Lumwana Radiants on Thursday recorded their fifth consecutive league win after overcoming Kitwe United in a five-goal thriller played in Kalumbila.
The Uranium Boys, as they are fondly known, ended the first round of the FAZ-Eden University National League on a high note, beating the Kitwe side 3-2.
Former ‘Chingalika’ anchorman Josephat Kasusu bit the fingers that once fed him, scoring a brace in the 45th and 74th minutes for the hosts to carry the day in a pulsating encounter.

Earlier, Fuedes Chibandika opened the floodgates with a 30th minute strike before the Buchi Boys were gifted with an own goal by Missi Katendi in the 32nd minute.
United’s second goal came through Songwe in the 35th minute but it was not enough to level the scores.Radiants’ win means that for the second season running, North-Western Province will have a representative in the prestigious ABSA Cup, Zambia’s only cup competition.

Radiants last played in the tournament, formerly known as the Barclays Cup, in 2015.
The Kalumbila-based team joins NAPSA Stars FC from the National League in the ABSA Cup.
In the league, Radiants have so far amassed 34 points while NAPSA Stars is two points behind them at the mid-point of the season.
As it stands, the sides are on course to return to the elite league at the first time in the 2022/23 season.
Radiants were relegated to the FAZ-Eden University National League last season.
From the MTN Super League, 5 clubs have already qualified to the ABSA Cup.
Six times winners Zesco United are joined by Green Buffaloes, Red Arrows, Green Eagles and Nkana.
Nkwazi will qualify if Zanaco fail to beat Red Arrows by 4-0 or more scoreline in their rescheduled game.
