They say in the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity. After his father passed away, his mother decided to send him to Isoka to go and live with his grandmother whilst hoping that he completes his senior secondary with which he did, and little did he know that he lied in wait there.
Lameck Siame was born on 9th July 1997 in the heart of Lusaka Zambia, Chaisa township.
Everyone has talent but what’s rare is the courage to follow it to the tough places it leads and making it work for you. His first well-established amateur club was Isoka young stars of Isoka district in Muchinga province, a club he joined at a time he was doing his senior secondary education and after three seasons with the club, he thought it wise to move on and try out a different challenge by signing for Riverside where his brilliant shot-stopping shenanigans caught the attention of Real Nakonde, a club which had just won promotion to the Zambia Super League.
But just a season Real Nakonde was relegated to the lower tier but Lameck Siame moved to Chingalika, Kitwe United where he would shine and receive tempting offers from top Super League teams just before the end of his debut season with Kitwe United but opted against a move.
“In 2018 I almost joined Nkwazi but things turned up to be slow then Kitwe United called me and I just decided to accept what they tabled before me and at the end of the season Zesco United and Kabwe warriors called me but I decided to play another season with kitwe united until 2019,” Lameck Siame told the ZamFoot Crew in an exclusive interview.
Most players would rush for a move to a bigger club but Siame decided to wait and concentrate on honing his craft.
The lanky goalminder has already played for the under 23 national team with his first call up coming during the 2020 Egypt under 23 AFCON qualifiers after which he went with the team to the tournament.
He also is a regular call-up for the senior national team and is tipped to be among the front runners to take up the Kennedy Mweene crown between the sticks.
We all learn from the best and if we want to be the best then we must emulate them and better still finding opportunities to play with them that’s if it’s in football to learn things. speaking of such experience, Lameck Siame had this to say :
“My national duty experience has been the best football moment so far and speaking of such is the international friendly against Senegal as I faced people I only watch on TV the likes of Mane, Koulibally, Mendy and others,” he said
Lameck Siame who was influential for Kabwe Warriors in the road to CAF Confederation Cup qualification says the team managed to at least meet their second objective of qualifying for Continental football.
“Our target was winning the league and we said if we fail then we must play CAF club competitions and we have managed to meet our second target by qualifying for CAF confederation cup through unity and oneness by putting a good fight as a team,” he said.
It is expected that Lameck Siame will continue defying all odds by continuing to become better to put his name among the Zambian goalkeeping greats.
Siame is currently in camp with the Zambia national team who are preparing for the 20th edition of the COSAFA Cup.
