Chipolopolo interim head coach George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina says Zambia will have to cope with the absence of key players as they prepare for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria and Togo.
Asked how much the team could miss suspended Klings Kangwa and Clatous Chota Chama, who was not included in the squad, Lwandamina said the two are not the only players who will be absent.
«“Not only those two, but there are many players who will miss this. We are bound by numbers; we have to follow these benchmarks from CAF and FIFA.”»
Kangwa is unavailable due to suspension, while Chama was left out of the squad despite his strong form for Simba SC.
Zambia travel to Algeria on 25 September before hosting Togo on 29 September at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
